Frank Rivera Caravalho Sr., 94, of Kapaau died Aug. 20 at home. Born in Halaula, he worked for Kohala Sugar Plantation and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and former member of Kohala Senior Citizens softball team and played in the 80-and-over Senior Citizens Softball World Series. Visitation 8 a.m. Saturday Sept. 1 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi. Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Survived by sons, Frank (Joan) Caravalho Jr., of Halaula and Harold (Janice) Caravalho of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Lola (Robert) Loebl of Hilo and Sandie (Angelino) Torres of Kapaau; sister, Dorothy Wells of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Abigail “Abbie” Kupihea Kelepolo, 65, of Kailua-Kona, died July 15 at home. Born in Kealakekua, she was a waitress at the former Kona Inn Hotel and member of Salvation Army home league group. Take Yazaki, 108, of Hilo died Aug. 12 at Life Care Center of Hilo.
